The Mini Cougar 8045 pairs a compact 3.6 in cold-hammer-forged barrel with Beretta’s short-recoil, locked-breech rotating barrel system. This design, combined with the closed-top slide and aluminum alloy frame, delivers the recognizable Cougar handling in a smaller .45 ACP package.
Controls follow the F-type scheme with a slide-mounted safety/decocker featuring a red index dot. A loaded-chamber indicator pin on top of the slide provides a tactile and visual status check. The pistol uses fixed iron sights with a white-dot blade front and a square-notch rear.
Ergonomics include an exposed spurred hammer, standard Beretta takedown latch, and black checkered polymer grip panels with Beretta medallions. Capacity is 6+1 with factory 6-round steel magazines, and five magazines are included.
Markings are extensive and correct: the slide is marked "PIETRO BERETTA GARDONE V.T. - MADE IN ITALY" and "MOD. 8045 F - PATENTED"; the frame dust cover reads "READ MANUAL BEFORE USE - MINI COUGAR -"; the barrel hood is marked "45 AUTO"; and the frame bears "CAT. 10425." Italian proof marks (PSF nitro and Gardone proof house emblem) and the "BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK., MD." import marking are present.
