This PJK-9HP follows the short-recoil, locked-breech Browning cam system and runs single-action only. It uses a frame-mounted thumb safety, a ring hammer, and a left-side push-button magazine release for a familiar Hi-Power manual of arms.
The pistol is full-size with an all-carbon-steel frame and slide, a 4.65 in barrel, and fixed sights (front blade and rear notch in a dovetail). The slide has rear vertical serrations, the early internal extractor, and no ventilated rib. Black checkered synthetic grip panels provide a straightforward, durable hold.
Markings include the FEG hexagon logo and MADE IN HUNGARY, with dual importer stamps: K.B.I., Inc., Harrisburg, PA and C.A.I., Georgia, VT. The frame, slide, and barrel share matching serial numbers, adding desirable continuity among major components.
