The MIKE-9 uses a simple blowback operating system tuned for 9mm Luger, paired with a Glock-pattern magazine well that accepts Glock double-stack magazines. Capacity with the included magazine is 40+1. A proprietary last-round bolt hold open aids reload consistency, while a flared magwell speeds magazine changes.
The upper and handguard present a monolithic-style profile with a continuous 1913 Picatinny top rail for mounting. The free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard supports accessory placement, and the ejection port is clearly marked 9MM. A forward, non-reciprocating left-side charging handle offers ergonomic manipulation without adding reciprocating mass.
The 5.5-inch barrel is threaded and fitted with a blast-diffuser muzzle device. This compact barrel length balances maneuverability with reliable cycling in the AR-9 format.
An adjustable SB-branded stabilizing brace is installed on a carbine-length buffer tube secured with a castle nut. The receiver set is aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish.
