The SL designation identifies this model as the all-stainless variant, with both frame and slide finished in stainless. Slide rollmarks read "SIG SAUER MADE IN GERMANY P232 SL" on the left and "SIGARMS INC. EXETER-NH 9 mm kurz" on the right, reflecting its German manufacture and U.S. import.
It uses a fixed-barrel, straight blowback operating system and a DA/SA trigger. Controls include a frame-mounted decocking lever and a European heel-type magazine release. There is no manual safety, and the pistol incorporates a firing pin block. The exposed spur hammer supports traditional DA/SA operation.
Sight setup consists of a fixed blade front and a dovetailed rear notch that is windage-adjustable via screw and includes two white dots. The slide features top anti-glare serrations, rear slide serrations, and an external extractor for reliable function and clear sight alignment.
Compact dimensions and chambering make it practical and easy to handle: barrel length is approximately 3.6 in, overall length 6.6 in, height 4.7 in, width 1.3 in, and weight about 23.6 oz. Capacity is 7+1 in .380 ACP.
Proof and import details include the eagle over N nitro proof, Ulm stag-horn proof, DE in pentagon (C.I.P. code), and the AE date code corresponding to 2004 proofing, plus the SIGARMS INC. EXETER-NH import mark. The P232 line has been discontinued, adding context to this example’s configuration and markings.
