The USP Expert configuration pairs a long slide with a 5.2-inch barrel and an O-ring at the muzzle to enhance lockup consistency. The barrel is cold-hammer-forged with polygonal rifling, designed for durability and easy maintenance.
Controls include a DA/SA system with a manual safety and decocker, plus an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release. The match trigger incorporates an adjustable overtravel stop. HK's recoil reduction system is integrated into the design.
Sighting is handled by TRU DOT target sights with a micrometer-adjustable, square-notch rear and a tall front blade in a 3-dot configuration. The extended slide length supports a 7.50-inch sight radius. The slide features rear cocking serrations, polygonal top flats, and HK's Hostile Environment finish.
The fiber-reinforced polymer frame includes molded USP logo grip panels and the USP proprietary accessory rail. The installed Jet Funnel works with extended magazines to facilitate rapid reloads and provides an 18+1 capacity; the included magazines are Jet Funnel–compatible.
Markings confirm German manufacture and import: Ulm stag-horn proof, DE country code, BD date code, and HKI – Columbus GA import mark. "Made in Germany" is present on the pistol.
