Product Description

DWM Modelo Argentino 1891 Peruvian Contract Long Rifle, 7.65x53mm Mauser, 29 in Barrel (1899) with M1891 Bayonet & Scabbard

This DWM Berlin-produced Modelo Argentino 1891 Long Rifle is a Peruvian contract example from 1899 with the receiver ring national crest intact. It follows the early Mauser 1889/90/91 pattern with a single-stack protruding magazine and hinged floorplate, and it retains a 29-inch barrel. Notably, it comes with a Model 1891 sword bayonet with hooked quillon and metal scabbard. Serial numbers do not match.

Contract and maker markings are clearly present, including the side rail legend: "MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891. DEUTSCHE WAFFEN- UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN. BERLIN." The bolt body remains in the white, consistent with the pattern. Chambered in 7.65x53mm Mauser, it uses a 5-round single-stack magazine.

The rifle operates with a cock-on-close bolt-action system and retains its long 29-inch barrel. Sights are the correct tangent ladder rear sight with folding leaf and range graduations, paired with an unhooded front blade. A cleaning rod is installed under the barrel.

The full-length walnut stock features a straight wrist, steel buttplate, sling swivels, and a short upper handguard. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches. This full-size Mauser-pattern long rifle presents as a Peruvian contract example manufactured in Germany by DWM.

Included is the Model 1891 sword bayonet with hooked quillon and metal grip scales, along with its metal scabbard, complementing the rifle’s contract pattern and period features.
