The Omega is an inline muzzleloader with an under-lever, pivoting drop-breech design and exposed spur hammer for straightforward operation in the field. It uses 209-primer ignition via a removable breech plug for reliable performance and easy cleaning.
The 28 inch blued steel barrel features a QLA counterbored crown and a 1:28 rifling twist. An aluminum under-barrel ramrod is retained by two thimbles. Barrel markings include "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE .50 CAL." with the roll-mark "BLACK POWDER OR PYRODEX ONLY – DO NOT USE SMOKELESS POWDER."
Factory fiber-optic open sights are retained, with a ramped front post using three orange elements and an adjustable rear open notch with a green insert. The rear sight base is marked "Thompson/Center."
The black synthetic stock has molded checkering, a rubber buttpad, and sling swivel studs. A leather sling with detachable swivels is installed for carry.
A Swift W.A. 1.5-4.5x32 scope is mounted on a one-piece Weaver-style base with rings, providing a practical, low-to-mid power sighting setup that complements the rifle’s capabilities.
