The NRCH configuration provides dual ambidextrous, non-reciprocating charging handles that stay forward during firing. This setup supports bilateral operation without receiver contact during cycling and reflects the latest SCAR S architecture.
Its short-stroke gas piston system includes an adjustable gas regulator for reliable function with 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition. The CHF, chrome-lined 16.25-inch steel barrel is built for durability and features a multi-port prong/compensator-style muzzle device.
The monolithic aluminum upper integrates a full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail, with additional accessory rails at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. Folding iron sights include a gas-block-mounted front sight and a rear sight on the receiver rail.
The side-folding, telescoping polymer stock in FDE offers an adjustable length of pull of approximately 12 to 14.5 inches and a rubber buttpad. The lower is polymer, the upper is aluminum, and the rifle carries factory markings including FN Columbia, SC USA. Factory MultiCam NRCH variants were unveiled in 2022, continuing the SCAR lineage originating from the USSOCOM program.
