What's Included
- Remington Model 887 NitroMag 12 gauge pump-action shotgun
- Screw-in rifled choke tube (installed)
The Model 887 NitroMag uses Remington's ArmorLokt system, encapsulating the steel barrel and receiver in a durable polymer overmold. This design provides added protection against harsh weather and corrosion while retaining a steel core for strength. The black synthetic stock and fore-end include molded traction panels for a secure grip.
The 28-inch barrel is a vent-rib smoothbore configured with a screw-in rifled choke tube. The bore is smooth, and the choke is rifled, offering flexibility when selecting appropriate loads. Sighting is fast and simple with a green fiber-optic front bead and a mid-rib bead.
Chambered for 2-3/4, 3, and 3-1/2 inch shells, the 887 NitroMag is set up for a wide range of 12-gauge ammunition. It uses a tubular magazine with a standard cap (no extension), and the barrel is threaded to accept choke tubes.
Ergonomics are straightforward and rugged. The stock and synthetic fore-end feature molded traction panels, and the Remington SuperCell recoil pad adds comfort at the shoulder. The length of pull measures 13.75 inches. The receiver has a steel core with an ArmorLokt polymer overmold, and the overall finish is black.
Production of the Model 887 NitroMag ran from 2009 to 2015. Remington issued a voluntary recall for certain guns made between December 1, 2013, and November 24, 2014; repaired guns are identified by a punch mark on the bolt.
