The LCP MAX uses a hammer-fired, short-recoil system with an internal hammer. Ruger’s patented barrel-cam geometry is designed to delay unlocking, supporting consistent function in a compact .380 platform. The pistol will fire with the magazine removed; there is no magazine disconnect.
Sight configuration is carry-focused: a dovetailed tritium front sight with a white outline and a drift-adjustable steel rear featuring a U-notch and square front face. The slide adds practical handling features with front and rear serrations and rear grasping wings, all finished in black nitride for wear resistance.
The frame is black, glass-filled nylon with a textured black polymer grip. Controls include a pushbutton magazine release that is reversible, set up on the left side from the factory. The trigger has a bladed safety, a short, crisp pull, and a positive reset. Safety equipment also includes a trigger safety; there is no accessory rail on this model.
Capacity is 10+1 with steel-bodied, staggered-column magazines made for the LCP MAX. This example includes three magazines with a mix of flush and finger-extension baseplates to tailor concealment and control. Bodyguard-pattern sight dovetails provide the specified interface for the installed sights.
