What’s Included
- 28 in barrel with fixed Modified choke
This 500A two-barrel configuration provides an 18.5 inch barrel with a fixed Cylinder choke (non-ribbed) for close-range work and a separate field barrel of approximately 28 inches with a fixed Modified choke. Both barrels are steel and use a single brass bead sight, keeping the sight picture simple and familiar.
The action is the classic Mossberg pump design with dual extractors, twin action bars, steel-to-steel lockup, and an anti-jam elevator. It feeds from a 5-round tubular magazine and is chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 inch 12-gauge shells for broad ammunition compatibility.
The receiver is aluminum alloy with a right-side ejection port and is marked "Mossberg - Made in U.S.A - North Haven, Conn - 500A - 12 GA." Controls include Mossberg’s ambidextrous top-tang safety. The hardwood stock features pressed checkering, a ventilated recoil pad with a white-line spacer, and a 14.0 inch length of pull.
Sighting is via a bead system with a single brass front bead. The 18.5 inch barrel carries the fixed Cylinder Bore, while the ~28 inch field barrel provides a fixed Modified choke, giving this two-barrel set practical coverage across common 12-gauge roles.
