This P227 is a full-size, DA/SA, hammer-fired pistol using a short-recoil, locked-breech system with a decocker. The alloy frame wears a durable black hard-coat anodized finish and features an integral accessory rail with three cross-slots.
The sighting system is set up for low-light use, pairing a TRUGLO TFO front sight with a green rod insert and a SIGLITE rear night sight with two recessed dots. This combination provides a bright day-and-night aiming reference.
Chambered in .45 ACP, the pistol uses double-stack magazines for a 10+1 capacity and has a 4.4-inch barrel. The wraparound textured black polymer grip with the SIG SAUER logo provides a solid, consistent hold.
