The chamber accepts both 2 3/4" and 3" 20 gauge loads for broad ammunition flexibility.
The receiver is steel with a uniform matte blued finish, and the 870 action runs on dual action bars for smooth, consistent cycling. A tubular magazine with the standard magazine cap is installed; capacity is 2+1 as configured. Controls include a cross-bolt safety and a polymer trigger guard.
Hardwood furniture includes a straight-comb stock and sporter forend, both with pressed checkering for grip. The stock is capped with a recoil pad and features the Remington "R" medallion. Length of pull measures 13.8 inches, offering a comfortable fit for a range of shooters.
