1916 Carl Gustaf m/96 Swedish Mauser Long Rifle, 6.5x55, 29 in Barrel, Threaded Muzzle
This WWI-era Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori m/96 long rifle was produced in 1916 and retains classic Swedish Mauser features with a 29-inch barrel, full-length handguard, and two barrel bands. It carries correct receiver markings with the crown over monogram and factory legend, an inspector's crowned "HK" on the left receiver wall, and a brass unit/bore disk with "Torped överslag" text. All observable numbers match; the bolt is devoid of markings and should not be considered matching. It is in solid shape for its age and should prove to be a good shooter.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

The stock has been cut around the receiver and the bolt release to accommodate a scope mount. The barrel shows external muzzle threads.
What's Included
- Aftermarket scope mount with Weaver/Picatinny rail plate and clamp blocks (not installed)
- Issue-pattern cleaning rod (installed)
This rifle follows the long rifle configuration with a 29-inch barrel, two barrel bands, and a full-length handguard over a hardwood stock with finger grooves. It wears a blued finish with a steel buttplate, bottom sling swivels, and a left-side fore-end sling bar. The installed issue-pattern cleaning rod is present.
The small-ring Mauser action features controlled-round feed and a flag/wing safety on the bolt shroud. It has a straight bolt handle with the bolt body left in-the-white, and an internal 5-round staggered-column magazine that is stripper-clip fed. Sights are the correct iron set: an unhooded front blade and a tangent rear with sliding cursor.
Markings are consistent with Swedish service arms of the period. The receiver ring shows the crown over monogram and "CARL GUSTAFS STADS GEVARSFAKTORI 1916" legend, and the left receiver wall bears a crowned "HK" inspector mark. The buttstock brass unit/bore disk includes "Torped överslag" text. All observable serials are matching; however, the bolt is unnumbered and is not considered matching.
The muzzle is externally threaded for Swedish service devices and no protector cap is present. The stock was relieved around the receiver and bolt release to clear an aftermarket clamp-on scope mount, which is included but not installed. Overall, this is a well-configured Swedish m/96 that remains serviceable and ready for range use.
