This Bodyguard 38 integrates the factory Insight laser into the right-side frame module, offering ambidextrous activation and user-adjustable windage and elevation via built-in screws. The revolver uses an enclosed-hammer, double-action-only system and a unique top-strap push-button cylinder release. The 1.875-inch shrouded steel barrel with a steel liner pairs with a five-shot steel cylinder, and the gun is rated for .38 Special +P.
The frame is a polymer-covered alloy finished in matte black for reduced glare and durability. It wears one-piece textured synthetic grips with S&W medallions for a solid hold, and it does not display an external key-lock hole.
