The Model 19-3 represents a key engineering change in the storied Model 19 line. This example features the K-frame with a square-butt grip frame and a 6-inch barrel, a configuration that entered regular catalog production in 1963. The barrel carries a partial underlug with a shrouded ejector rod, and the fluted cylinder holds six rounds of .357 Magnum.
Construction is all carbon steel with a high-polish blued finish across the frame, barrel, and cylinder. The wide, serrated trigger and exposed wide-serrated hammer spur are case-hardened, providing the characteristic look and feel associated with this period of S&W production.
Sighting equipment consists of a plain black ramp front and a fully adjustable micrometer rear, offering a clear sight picture and precise adjustments. The checkered hardwood target stocks with S&W medallions complement the square-butt frame for a classic target-style grip.
Factory markings include "SMITH & WESSON" on the left side of the barrel and "S.&W. .357 MAGNUM" on the right. The right side of the frame is rollmarked "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." The yoke cut is marked "MOD. 19-3" with assembly numbers.
The 1973 production date and 4K3 serial prefix align with the era widely associated with the Model 19’s Combat Magnum heritage.
