The optics-ready slide is cut for mounting and includes a Torx-retained cover plate installed from the factory. Dovetailed iron sights with a front dot and rear notch provide a clear, simple sight picture if you prefer to run irons.
Ergonomics are a core VP9 trait. This pistol uses HK's interchangeable grip system with side panels and backstraps, along with the distinctive 'VP' molded into the backstrap. Rear charging supports on the slide aid in purchase when manipulating the action.
Controls are fully ambidextrous. It has a paddle-style ambidextrous magazine release and extended slide stop levers on both sides. A full-length, four-slot Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover accepts lights or other rail-mounted accessories.
