The IJ-70-18A is the export, adjustable-sight variant within the IJ-70 series. It is marked with both Latin 'Baikal IJ-70' and Cyrillic 'ИЖ-70' export legends, and carries the KBI Inc. Harrisburg PA import mark, the Izhevsk arrow-in-triangle logo, and the circled PC certification mark alongside a Made in Russia stamp.
Built on a compact all-steel frame with a blued finish, it uses a straight blowback, DA/SA, hammer-fired system with a fixed barrel. Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker and a heel-style magazine release, consistent with Makarov-pattern export pistols. A lanyard ring on the frame supports traditional carry methods.
Sighting equipment consists of a fixed front blade and a fully adjustable micrometer-style rear sight for precise elevation and windage tuning. The slide adds practical features such as an anti-glare rib and rear slide serrations to aid manipulation.
Grip panels are black checkered polymer with the star medallion, complementing the pistol’s classic presentation. Capacity is 8+1 with the included single-stack steel magazine, and the 3.68 in fixed barrel anchors the compact profile.
