    What’s Included

    • CVA Mountain Rifle .50 caliber percussion muzzleloader

The barrel is marked "50 Cal. Connecticut Valley Arms, Inc. Black Powder Only MADE IN U.S.A.," confirming domestic manufacture and black powder use. The 32-inch octagonal barrel is secured by two wedge keys with oval escutcheons, consistent with the Mountain Rifle pattern noted in period catalogs.

This rifle is built on a right-hand percussion sidelock with a steel trigger guard and a double-set trigger arrangement. Mountain Rifle barrels were cataloged with a 1:66 twist, aligning with the model’s traditional longrifle configuration.

Sighting is through open iron sights, with a dovetailed blade front and an open rear sight with an elevator. The barrel carries an under-rib with two ramrod thimbles.

The half-stock hardwood is stained and features a raised cheekpiece, a pewter nose cap, a brass patchbox, and a crescent steel buttplate. Custom decorative brass tacks accent the fore-stock in rows, with a cross motif at the butt, adding a distinctive visual element.

The length of pull measures 14.0 inches. The rifle represents the Mountain Rifle series offered in the late 1970s to mid-1980s, which was available in both factory-finished (PR405/PR406) and kit (KA715/KA716) configurations.
