European "CAL. 9 Short" caliber markings and the Italian catalog code "CAT. 5802" are present, reflecting its original European configuration.
Construction highlights include an aluminum alloy frame and a steel slide, both in a satin silver finish. The open-top slide features rear serrations only and carries the oval "PB" Beretta logo. The pistol operates on a straight blowback system and uses a DA/SA trigger, with a slide-mounted safety/decocker and a firing pin block for added mechanical safeties.
