The 84FS Cheetah is a compact member of Beretta’s 80 Series, chambered in .380 ACP with a double-stack 10+1 capacity. This example was Made in Italy and bears Banco di Gardone Italian proof marks along with a boxed Italian date code "BN," with an importer marking from Beretta USA Corp., Acck, MD. European "CAL. 9 Short" caliber markings and the Italian catalog code "CAT. 5802" are present, reflecting its original European configuration.
Construction highlights include an aluminum alloy frame and a steel slide, both in a satin silver finish. The open-top slide features rear serrations only and carries the oval "PB" Beretta logo. The pistol operates on a straight blowback system and uses a DA/SA trigger, with a slide-mounted safety/decocker and a firing pin block for added mechanical safeties. An external spurred hammer completes the classic 84FS control layout.
Ergonomics are enhanced by a squared trigger guard with front serrations and a grooved, undercut frontstrap. Sighting is straightforward and durable, with fixed sights: a ramped front blade with a colored insert and a fixed rear notch. Checkered wooden grip panels with PB medallions provide a secure hold and a traditional Beretta aesthetic.
The 3.82 in barrel keeps the package compact while retaining practical sight radius and handling. Two steel 10-round magazines are included, each with witness holes numbered 5 and 10. This configuration delivers the Cheetah’s well-known balance of capacity and compact size in a clean, Italian-made 1999 example.
