Browning BT-99 Max 12 Gauge Single-Shot, 34 in Ported Barrel, Invector-Plus Full Choke, Made in Japan (1996)
This Browning BT-99 Max is a 12 gauge, single-shot, break-action shotgun with a 34 in barrel and factory porting, built in Japan and date coded NT for 1996. It features the Invector-Plus choke system with a Full choke installed, a high-post ventilated matted rib with ivory front and mid beads, and polished blue steel throughout. The high-gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock and beavertail forend show cut checkering, and this example is custom-fitted with an aluminum adjustable buttplate assembly and a rubber recoil pad for a 15.0 in length of pull.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Mechanics: Action drops open with almost no resistance. Ejectors are well timed. Locking lug has ample life.
Specific Condition Notes: There are scratches and blemishes present. There is finish loss on some edges of the action, along with pitting on the receiver and vent rib.

The receiver is rollmarked "BT-99 Max," and the barrel is marked "INVECTOR-PLUS BT-99 SPECIAL STEEL 12GA. SHELLS 2 3/4." The right side carries the "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. — MADE IN JAPAN" rollmark, with proof and inspection marks on the barrel flats. The serial includes the "NT" date code corresponding to 1996, and the barrel flats and forend iron have matching numbers.
The 34 in steel barrel is factory ported and threaded for Invector-Plus choke tubes, and it wears a high-post, ventilated, matted rib. Sight acquisition is straightforward with an ivory front bead and an ivory mid-bead. Chambering is 2 3/4 in, and the gun has a 1-round capacity. Full choke is installed.
This break-action, single-shot BT-99 uses a single trigger and polished blue steel receiver accented by the gold Browning buckmark on the trigger guard. Mechanics are sound, with well-timed ejectors and a locking lug that shows ample life.
The furniture is high-gloss walnut with a Monte Carlo comb, pistol grip, and cut checkering, paired with a walnut beavertail forend. Custom touches include an aluminum adjustable buttplate assembly and a rubber recoil pad, setting the length of pull at 15.0 in.
