This P225-based P6 was produced for the West German police procurement program and accepted for service in NRW in 06/82. It bears the correct NRW agency code and acceptance date on the slide, German proof marks, and MADE IN W. GERMANY markings. An import mark from BTP New Oxford, PA is present, consistent with its return to the U.S. market.
The pistol uses a double-action/single-action system with a decocker. It combines a steel slide with an anodized aluminum-alloy frame to keep weight down while maintaining durability. The compact profile, 3.9-inch barrel, and single-stack 8+1 capacity reflect the P6 service specification.
Police-contract features include a lanyard ring and SIG’s dual roll-pin firing-pin retention in the slide. Sights are fixed irons with a ramped front post and a square-notch rear, offering a straightforward, duty-ready sight picture.
Grip panels are black, checkered polymer for a secure hold. Two correct P225/P6 single-stack steel magazines are included, and the original factory box with P6 9x19 label and a marked duty holster round out a set that aligns with its service provenance.
