The Security-Six platform delivers classic Ruger strength in a six-shot, fluted-cylinder revolver. This example is built from brushed stainless steel with a 6-inch barrel featuring a partial underlug and an integral ejector-rod housing. The cylinder swings out to the left, uses a left-side push-button latch, and the ejector rod has a knurled head for positive control.
Sighting is set up for precision with a pinned Baughman-style ramp front sight that carries an orange/red insert for visibility, paired with a fully adjustable black rear sight. The combination provides a clear, traditional sight picture suited to the long 6-inch barrel.
Mechanically, it uses Ruger’s transfer-bar safety system and a DA/SA action. As part of the Ruger Six-series, the design is field-strippable. Checkered walnut grip panels with Ruger medallions complete the classic configuration.
Markings include “.357 MAGNUM CAL.” on the left side of the barrel and “STURM, RUGER & CO., INC., SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A.” with the instruction-manual warning on the right. The extractor star underside is stamped “S.” Chambered in .357 Magnum, it is also compatible with .38 Special ammunition. Made in the United States.
