The Rhino design fires from the bottom cylinder chamber, delivering a low-bore-axis layout intended to reduce muzzle rise. This 60D configuration is double-action only in 9mm Luger with a 6 inch barrel and a 6-shot, hexagonal-profile cylinder. The cylinder is machined with rear recesses for moon clips, and 9mm moon clips are included.
Gen II internals are competition oriented, featuring separate hammer and trigger return springs and an external overtravel stop on the trigger. The DAO 60D setup provides a consistent trigger pull every shot without a single-action notch.
Construction is a steel barrel paired to an aluminum-alloy frame/receiver in Kobalt Kinetics Slate Cerakote. The steel cylinder wears a black finish. A ventilated barrel shroud with elongated lightening slots caps the 6 inch tube while keeping the profile distinctive.
Sighting is fast and adjustable via an orange fiber-optic front and a fully adjustable fiber-optic rear. The revolver includes rails and a scope-mount provision to support accessory and sighting setup options as configured by the user.
Ergonomics are anchored by gray/black laminated wood grips with finger grooves and Chiappa Rhino medallions. This revolver bears Italian/CIP proof marks and importer markings for Chiappa Firearms, Dayton, OH, reflecting manufacture in Italy.
