The Extended Rail configuration provides an extended full-length Picatinny top rail along with short side rail segments. This layout offers broad mounting surfaces for accessories while retaining the AUG/A3 M1’s compact bullpup profile.
The operating system is a gas-operated, short-stroke piston with a rotating bolt and an adjustable gas plug/regulator. Controls include a cross-bolt safety and a left-side, folding, non-reciprocating charging handle.
The rifle uses a steel, quick-change barrel system with a 16-inch barrel on this example. The threaded muzzle is fitted with a birdcage-style flash hider.
The white polymer stock integrates the pistol grip and a fixed vertical foregrip. Length of pull is 14.5 inches. The AUG-pattern detachable magazine system feeds 5.56mm NATO and this configuration offers a 30+1 capacity.
Finished in Steyr’s factory Mannox, this AUG/A3 M1 is U.S.-assembled by Steyr Arms in Bessemer, Alabama, combining the platform’s proven design with domestic assembly.
