This Dan Wesson Specialist Optics-Ready Government pairs a forged stainless-steel slide and frame with the brand's Duty black treatment, a hand-fit 5-inch match-grade bushing barrel, and a factory optics-ready slide with a DW-logo cover plate. It is a full-size 9mm 1911 built in the United States, configured with practical features that matter on the range or duty belt, including an integral 1913 rail and aggressive grip geometry.
The slide is outfitted with rear and short forward cocking serrations and a serrated flat-top rib to reduce glare. A Battlehook rear sight sits on the optic cover plate, matched to a green fiber-optic front sight for a clear, fast sight picture. The frame geometry is purpose-driven: 25 LPI frontstrap checkering, a checkered mainspring housing with integrated extended magwell, an undercut trigger guard, and a recessed slide stop.
Controls and fire-control parts are set up for confident, single-action operation with an ambidextrous thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety with memory pad, a long solid trigger, and a skeletonized hammer. Textured tan/black G10 grips round out the handling package. Capacity is 10+1 with the included 10-round 9mm magazines.
The dust cover carries an integral 1913 Picatinny rail for mounting a light. The optics-ready cut allows you to add a compatible red dot using the appropriate plate, and this example includes Dan Wesson Optic Plate Adapter 1 uninstalled. MSRP when new is $2,299.
