The Thunder 380 uses a DA/SA blowback action with a fixed 3.5 in barrel, combining a compact footprint with straightforward operation. Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker, and internal protections such as a firing pin block, magazine disconnect, and an integral key lock. The exposed spur hammer supports traditional DA/SA manipulation.
Its two-tone finish pairs a matte black slide with a matte nickel aluminum-alloy frame. Rear slide serrations aid manipulation, while top anti-glare serrations help cut reflections. The frame features a pronounced beavertail, vertically serrated frontstrap and backstrap, and a trigger guard with a forward hook for added control.
Sighting is handled by a fixed 3-dot set: a front blade with a white dot and a rear notch with two white dots. The rear is windage-adjustable via screw to fine-tune point of impact. Capacity is 7+1 with the included single-stack magazine featuring a finger-rest baseplate.
Markings include "IMPORTED BY R.S.A. ENTERPRISES INC OCEAN N J" and "MADE IN ARGENTINA," reflecting its Argentine manufacture and U.S. import history. The pistol is fitted with checkered wood grips bearing BERSA medallions, and an extra set of factory black polymer panels is included.
