The Springfield Armory Hellion is a modern 5.56 NATO bullpup built around a short-stroke gas piston system and a rotating bolt. It is the U.S. import adaptation of the Croatian HS Produkt VHS-2, featuring fully ambidextrous controls, reversible ejection, and a two-position gas regulator for normal or suppressed use. This example includes a nitrided CMV 16 in barrel, integrated flip-up sights, and a full-length top Picatinny rail with T-marks.

The Hellion’s bullpup configuration delivers a compact overall length while retaining a full 16 in barrel. Originating in Croatia, it brings the VHS-2 layout to the U.S. market with Springfield Armory import markings.
The operating system is semi-automatic with a short-stroke gas piston and a rotating bolt. A two-position gas regulator lets the user select normal or suppressed settings.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, and ejection can be reversed for right- or left-handed use. It feeds from standard STANAG/AR-15 magazines and ships with a 30-round PMAG for a 30+1 capacity.
The 16 in CMV steel barrel is Melonite/nitride treated and threaded 1/2x28, fitted with a factory birdcage flash hider. The rifle includes a polymer fore-end with M-LOK slots, a full-length top Picatinny rail with T-marks, integrated flip-up backup iron sights, and an adjustable multi-position stock. Finish is black, with import stamp "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY GENESEO, IL."
