The AS-series P99 combines a striker-fired system with a DA/SA, Anti-Stress trigger and a top-mounted decocker, offering a distinctive manual of arms. It retains the early, first-generation slide profile with rear serrations only and a striker status indicator. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release is integrated into the trigger guard.
The 4-inch steel barrel is cold hammer forged with a nitrided finish and features 4-groove, right-hand twist rifling. The bore presents a bright, mirror finish with sharp lands and grooves, consistent with the noted condition.
Factory-style night capability is provided by installed 3-dot tritium sights, with a TG-H3-marked front and a windage-adjustable rear. The black polymer frame includes an integral accessory rail on the dustcover. An aftermarket adhesive/grit texture wrap is installed on the grip, and two spare interchangeable backstraps are included.
Proofs and markings confirm German manufacture with CIP eagle over N and Ulm antler proofs, along with the CIP AB date code for 2001. The slide, barrel, and frame bear matching serial markings, and the pistol carries the early Walther USA LLC import mark from Springfield, MA. Capacity is 16+1, and this example includes one 16-round magazine and two 10-round magazines.
