Built on the AR-15 platform, this M&P-15 uses a semi-automatic, direct impingement operating system with a carbine-length gas setup. The 16-inch barrel is threaded and capped with an A2-type flash suppressor, and the 1:9 twist supports a broad range of common 5.56mm/.223 bullet weights. Capacity is 30+1 with STANAG-pattern magazines.
Sighting equipment is straightforward and durable: an F-marked A2 front sight tower pairs with a Magpul MBUS Gen2 flip-up rear sight. The flat-top, T-marked Picatinny upper receiver includes a forward assist, dust cover, and case deflector, providing a robust upper assembly consistent with service-style AR configurations.
Furniture is practical and lightweight. The carbine-length, two-piece ribbed polymer handguards provide a secure hold. A 6-position collapsible polymer stock in matte black allows length tuning, with a listed length of pull of 10.25 inches.
