The slide is a defining element: three rectangular lightening windows on each side and three on top reduce mass and give the Rapide Ice its signature profile. Stepped front and rear cocking serrations and a flat-top profile aid handling, and the top surface wears a matte dark-gray treatment. The ejection port is lowered and flared. Factory markings include “RAPIDE” with the Kimber logo on the slide and “KIMBER YONKERS NY USA” on the frame; the chamber hood is marked “9MM.”
The forged-style frame is configured for practical use with an integral 1913-style accessory rail featuring four slots. The front strap and mainspring housing are checkered for purchase, and an extended, beveled magazine well is integrated with the mainspring housing for quicker reloads. The beavertail grip safety includes a raised memory bump.
Controls align with the 1911 platform: single-action-only operation, an ambidextrous manual thumb safety, a grip safety, and a half-cock notch. A skeletonized commander-style hammer and a blue, V-cut aluminum trigger contribute to the pistol’s fast, crisp control feel.
Sighting is handled by steel, dovetailed three-dot sights: a single-dot front and two-dot rear. Blue/black textured G10 grip panels include a relief cut at the magazine release. Capacity is 10+1 with the included Wilson Combat magazine. Country of origin is the United States.
