Ruger Old Army Fixed-Sight Stainless .45 Black Powder Revolver, 5.5 Inch Barrel — As-New
This Ruger Old Army Fixed Sights revolver is a stainless, 5.5-inch, single-action percussion model built on Ruger’s modern solid-topstrap, coil-spring design. The fixed-sight 5.5-inch stainless variant was introduced in 2002 and is less common than the long-barrel adjustable-sight versions, with production discontinued by 2008. The Old Army is Ruger’s purpose-built cap-and-ball revolver, not a replica, and it uses a robust solid-topstrap frame and coil springs. This fixed-sight stainless configuration pairs a 5.5-inch barrel with a clean, practical sight picture: a fixed blade up front and a groove milled into the topstrap for the rear.
Construction is all stainless, including the frame, barrel, cylinder, and receiver, giving it a uniform stainless finish throughout. An under-barrel loading lever with a cylindrical latch is paired with Ruger’s unique rammer/base-pin latch system designed to stay latched and simplify disassembly.
Safety notches between chambers provide safe carry positions. The cylinder is rollmarked "BLACK POWDER ONLY," and the frame is marked "RUGER OLD ARMY." Factory smooth simulated-ivory grips with Ruger medallions complete the presentation.
This 6-shot, single-action percussion revolver is chambered in .45 BPM (black powder). The Ruger catalog/mfg part number KBPI-5F identifies this fixed-sight 5.5-inch stainless variant, introduced in 2002 and discontinued by 2008.
