The HK416 .22 LR pistol layout mirrors the familiar AR-style control set, using a simple blowback operating system tuned for rimfire reliability. Aluminum upper and lower receivers keep weight to 4.5 lb, with an overall length of 16.7 in. A 90° manual safety selector provides positive on/off positions.
The 8.5 in threaded barrel accepts the included multi-prong flash hider. A free-float M-LOK handguard and a T-numbered Picatinny top rail provide mounting real estate for mission-specific accessories. The upper includes a functional ejection-port dust cover and a molded case deflector; this configuration omits a forward assist.
Ergonomics and handling are supported by the carbine-type receiver extension with an SB Tactical pistol stabilizing brace and a textured, HK-pattern polymer grip. The two-tone black and FDE finish extends across the aluminum receivers and furniture for a cohesive, modern look.
Markings and provenance include CIP proof marks with "DE23" year-of-proof, "Made in Germany by Umarex," and the Heckler & Koch Inc., Columbus GA import mark. Notable build details for collectors include matching serial numbers on the bolt and lower. Capacity is 20+1 using the included curved polymer magazines with side loading tabs.
