Built on Ruger's controlled-round-feed M77-pattern action with a three-position safety, this Scout Rifle delivers positive feeding and robust handling. Its hybrid 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem chamber offers ammunition flexibility while maintaining reliability.
The sighting system is ready for practical field use, combining a receiver-mounted adjustable ghost ring rear with a wing-protected front post. An XS Sights-marked forward Picatinny scout rail provides a solid mount position for scout-style optics or accessories if desired.
The 16 in barrel uses a 1:8 RH twist to stabilize a broad range of 5.56/.223 bullet weights. The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 TPI and fitted with a Ruger birdcage-style flash suppressor, giving you standard compatibility for common 5.56 muzzle devices.
Feeding is through Ruger factory detachable box magazines and the rifle is compatible with AICS/Accurate-Mag short-action magazines. Capacity is 10+1, and this example includes one 10-round and three 5-round magazines, in both polymer and steel types as shown.
The gray/black laminated hardwood stock features spacer-adjustable length of pull (13.75 in factory setup) with two included spacers, cut checkering, dual cross-bolts, sling swivel studs, and a recoil pad. A Gunsite raven medallion in the stock underscores the rifle's lineage. Factory weight is approximately 7.1 lb. Made in the United States in 2014.
