The M&P-15 platform delivers a classic AR-15 configuration with a direct-impingement, semi-automatic action and a carbine-length gas system. The 16-inch M4-profile barrel with step cuts is threaded and fitted with an aftermarket multi-port muzzle brake, and the 1:9 twist supports a wide range of 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem loads. Capacity is 30+1.
Sighting is built around an A2 front sight base with a sling swivel and bayonet lug, paired with a rail-mounted, dual-aperture flip-up rear BUIS. The A3/flat-top upper provides a T-marked Picatinny top rail. A dust cover, forward assist, and brass deflector are present.
Furniture includes a Magpul ACS 6-position adjustable carbine stock and an A2-type pistol grip. The handguard is a carbine-length, two-piece ribbed polymer drop-in design. Length of pull is listed at 15.0 inches.
Control enhancements include a Magpul B.A.D. Lever for bolt-catch manipulation. The rifle ships with one 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen M2 MOE magazine.
