Colt Government Model Combat Elite XSE Series 80 .45 ACP, Two-Tone, 5 in Barrel (2012)
This Colt Government Model Combat Elite from the XSE family is a factory two-tone .45 ACP built in 2012. It pairs a blued slide with a matte bead-blasted stainless frame and a Government-length 5 in barrel using a traditional GI bushing and closed-end recoil spring plug. Fixed three-dot Novak-style sights, XSE slide serrations, and Series 80 internal safety enhancements round out a configuration that is both classic and feature-rich. The factory case label lists Model 08011XSE and matches the pistol’s serial, and the slide is marked "COMBAT ELITE" and "GOVT MODEL" with the prancing Colt logo.

The Combat Elite configuration delivers a purposeful two-tone look: a blued slide over a matte bead-blasted stainless steel frame. The slide features front and rear cocking serrations, a lowered and flared ejection port, and distinct "COMBAT ELITE" and "GOVT MODEL" markings with the prancing Colt logo. It is a U.S.-made Series 80 Government Model chambered in .45 ACP.
Ergonomics and controls follow the XSE pattern, including an upswept beavertail grip safety with memory bump and an extended single-side thumb safety. A long, lightened three-hole aluminum trigger and a skeletonized commander-style hammer provide a crisp, familiar 1911 interface. Checkered hardwood grips with Colt medallions add secure purchase and classic presentation.
The pistol uses a Government-length 5 in barrel with a GI-style barrel bushing and a closed-end recoil spring plug. It does not use a full-length guide rod. The frame has no accessory rail, and it carries a flat, vertically serrated mainspring housing with a smooth front strap.
Sighting is straightforward and durable with fixed three-dot Novak-style irons: a dovetailed white-dot front blade and a low-mount dovetailed rear. Safety features include the grip safety, a left-side manual thumb safety, a half-cock notch, and the Series 80 firing pin safety. The factory model designation is 08011XSE, with production year 2012.
