Chambered in .357 SIG, this XD Service Model uses a 4-inch barrel and a full-size grip frame, providing the classic XD profile in a less common caliber. The slide is marked "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S.A.", "XD", and "XD-357", and the barrel hood is marked "357 SIG" for immediate caliber identification.
The pistol is striker-fired, recoil-operated, and locked-breech. Its safety system includes a grip safety, trigger safety, firing pin block, and a loaded chamber indicator, aligning with the XD series design.
Sight elements are fixed, dovetailed white 3-dot irons with a front blade carrying a single white dot and a rear notch with two white dots. The slide features diagonal front and rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation and incorporates the loaded chamber indicator.
Construction includes a black steel slide and barrel over a black polymer frame with textured grip panels and an SA-XD logo insert. An integral accessory rail with two cross-slots is molded into the dust cover for mounting compatible lights or accessories. Origin and import are clearly indicated by the stamp "SPRINGFIELD INC., GENESEO, IL – MADE IN CROATIA."
