The non–Super Mag receiver is designed for 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells, with the barrel marking noting that 3 1/2 inch shells are for Super Mag receivers only. The steel receiver and dual action bars deliver the proven 870 pump-action feel. A cross-bolt safety with a red indicator ring and a polymer trigger guard/trigger plate round out the control layout.
The 28-inch vent-rib barrel uses an internal flush Rem Choke system and is configured with an IM choke. Sight picture is provided by a single front bead with no mid-bead, keeping the rib clean and straightforward.
Furniture includes a hardwood stock and matching wood forend, both with pressed checkering for grip. A rubber recoil pad and a 14.0-inch length of pull contribute to a solid shoulder fit. The matte blued finish on the barrel and receiver presents a uniform, low-glare look.
