The Pro Duty configuration deletes the manual safety and magazine disconnect, and the frame carries the factory "GUN WILL FIRE WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED" marking. The internal safety suite includes a trigger safety with a safety blade and an internal striker blocker.
Its serialized, removable steel chassis and recoil-reducing barrel cam are designed for durability and controllability. Tool-less takedown without pulling the trigger streamlines maintenance.
The slide wears a black nitride finish with rear serrations for purchase. Sighting is via Novak 3-dot irons, with a windage-adjustable Novak LoMount rear. The glass-filled nylon frame provides durability and integrates a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail for lights or other rail-mounted accessories.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the magazine release, supporting left- or right-handed use. This pistol is cataloged as Model 08605 (A9-PRO-DUTY) and was manufactured in 2016 in the USA. It falls within the 860 serial prefix range; Ruger has a published safety bulletin applicable to 9mm American Pistols with 860 and 862 prefixes.
