Built at Saint-Étienne and dated 1907, this Modèle 1892 is a French service revolver with a six-round fluted cylinder, double-action/single-action operation, and a 4.6 in barrel. The revolver is constructed from ordnance steel and finished in factory blue with contrasting bright/straw small parts.
The right-swinging cylinder uses a star extractor for efficient ejection. A checkered rear thumb-latch controls the cylinder release, and a knurled under-barrel retention rod is fitted as designed. A steel lanyard ring is mounted on the butt.
Sighting is straightforward and robust, with a small front blade on an integral base and a square-notch rear set into the topstrap. Checkered walnut grip panels provide a secure, classic hold.
Markings include the barrel roll-marked "Mle 1892" and the frame marked "Mre d'Armes St Etienne." Circled inspector initials "V" and "B" are present, adding clear, documented details to this 1907-dated example.
