The Type III hardcoat anodized matte black finish provides durable surface protection.
Dimensions are streamlined for a .45-caliber can: 8.35 inches in length with piston, 1.375 inches in diameter, and a listed weight of 10.2 ounces with piston. Scalloped dimples on the rear of the tube aid grip during disassembly, while the front cap uses a three-lobed spanner interface for secure removal and maintenance.
The rear Nielsen device features a toothed locking ring and an indexing capability that allows rotation to fine-tune point of impact. Pistons are swappable to accommodate different thread pitches; the .45 version’s default piston thread is .578-28 RH. Factory guidance includes tightening to 20–30 ft-lb and avoiding the use of washers.
