Built on a U.S.-made Springfield Armory receiver from 1945, this M1 Garand reflects a WWII production base that was later arsenal-updated. The rifle uses post-war rear sight knobs without a lock bar, consistent with later service upgrades. The receiver and major steel components carry a parkerized finish.
The barrel is a Danish Vaabenarsenalet (VAR) replacement, marked D6535448 and dated 5-60. It shows Danish acceptance/proof marks including 'DK' on the barrel. These updates reflect the rifle’s service and maintenance history during its post-war use.
Stock furniture is walnut, including the handguards. Markings include a boxed cartouche on the left wrist and a circled 'P' proof on the pistol grip. The buttplate is steel, checkered, and features a trapdoor. Sling swivels are installed.
The rifle retains classic M1 features: a 24 inch barrel, an overall length of approximately 43.5 inches, and an en-bloc clip system. The gas cylinder is configured with a bayonet lug and lock screw. Sights consist of a wing-protected front blade and an aperture rear adjustable for windage and elevation.
Additional component markings include a bolt marked D28287-19SA A-7. The receiver is steel with a parkerized finish, and the rifle is chambered in .30-06.
