The Mark IV Target pairs a fixed, cold hammer-forged 5.5 inch bull barrel with a blowback-operated, semi-automatic action for dependable .22 LR performance. The barrel uses a 1:16 RH twist and 6-groove rifling, and is non-threaded.
Controls are set up for practical range use: a push-button, left-side magazine release; an ambidextrous manual safety convertible to left-side only; and a magazine disconnect. The cylindrical bolt with grasping ears and the fixed-barrel upper are classic Mark-series features. Capacity is 10+1.
The alloy steel barrel and receiver wear a blued finish, while the frame is anodized aluminum. Target sights include a fixed front blade and a fully adjustable rear. The receiver is drilled and tapped for an optics rail.
This is a post-recall production Mark IV not subject to Ruger’s 2017 safety recall. It is cataloged as Ruger SKU 40101 (Target, blued) and was made in the USA. This example is further distinguished by installed smooth dark laminate wood grip panels, with the original factory grips included.
