The 14.375-inch heavy-walled steel barrel is rollmarked "CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS — 12 GA — CYLINDER BORE —" and wears a brass bead front sight for quick alignment. Chambering supports both 2 3/4" and 3" shells. Choke: Cylinder Bore (fixed).
The anodized aluminum receiver is rollmarked "MOSSBERG, NORTH HAVEN, CT, U.S.A., 590 12 GA." and is drilled and tapped. Controls include a tang safety. The 590-series action uses twin action bars, dual extractors, an anti-jam elevator, and a steel-to-steel lockup.
Furniture consists of a black synthetic bird’s-head (Raptor) grip with a rear sling-swivel stud and a corn-cob synthetic forend with a nylon hand strap embroidered "Mossberg." A knurled magazine cap includes the front sling-swivel stud.
