The VEPR is built on a reinforced RPK-spec stamped receiver and uses a long-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, following the Kalashnikov/RPK lineage. This example is chambered in 7.62x54R and configured with a long 23-inch heavy-profile barrel for sustained performance. A multi-slot SVD-style flash hider is installed at the muzzle, and a front sight post is fitted on the front sight block.
Furniture includes an RPK-style extended lower handguard in polymer and a black polymer pistol grip with finger grooves. The tubular metal skeleton stock folds to the left and incorporates an adjustable cheekpiece for consistent cheek weld. Controls include a manual safety selector with "S" and "F" markings.
Optics are supported by an AK/RPK-pattern left-side rail on the receiver. Installed is a Belarus-made side-mount scope of the POSP/PSO type. Cyrillic control markings are present on the optic and mount (e.g., "ВКЛ/ВЫКЛ", "ВВЕРХ/ВНИЗ"), and the mount body is marked "MADE IN BELARUS."
Markings include "VEPR 7.62x54R" on the receiver and the maker's mark "MOLOT Oruzhie Ltd., Vyatskie Polyany, Russia." The importer is WPA Anaheim, CA, with an "WPA ANAHEIM CA" import stamp. This rifle uses a single-stack 5-round polymer magazine molded "ВЕПРЬ," providing a 5+1 capacity.
This rifle was imported prior to the 2017 U.S. sanctions that halted Molot/VEPR imports, underscoring its appeal to buyers seeking a Russian-made VEPR with established import provenance.
