Built on a black Zytel polymer frame with an internal stainless-steel chassis, this M&P9 delivers a rigid foundation with durable surface protection from its Melonite-treated stainless slide and barrel. The design balances durability with manageable weight and a full-size sight radius.
The control layout is ambidextrous and adaptable: an ambidextrous slide stop and a reversible magazine release support left- or right-handed use. The hinged trigger safety and striker block provide passive safety, and there is no external thumb safety or magazine disconnect.
Steel, low-profile Novak-style 3-dot sights (white-dot front, two-dot rear) offer a clear sight picture. Scalloped rear slide serrations aid manipulation, and the integral 3-slot Picatinny rail supports compatible lights or accessories as needed.
A loaded-chamber witness port at the barrel hood offers a quick visual check. The sear-deactivation lever allows takedown without pulling the trigger. Capacity is 17+1 with the included magazines.
