This is an original-series Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield chambered in 9mm with the factory manual thumb safety. It features a 3.1-inch stainless barrel and stainless slide treated with a black Melonite finish, low-profile steel 3-dot sights, and left-side-only controls. It comes with both 7- and 8-round factory magazines, the S&W factory box, and the factory test-fire casing envelope dated 9/20/2013.

The M&P 9 Shield is a slim, single-stack 9mm built for compact carry with proven M&P ergonomics. This example is the manual thumb safety variant with left-side-only controls and a left-side, non-reversible magazine release. It retains the original-series design elements specified for this SKU.
Its stainless steel barrel and slide receive a black Melonite treatment for durability. The 3.1-inch barrel uses 5-groove, right-hand twist rifling. The polymer frame is finished in black with textured grip surfaces that aid control while keeping the profile thin.
The slide has scalloped rear serrations and no front serrations. Sights are low-profile steel, featuring a white-dot front and a drift-adjustable two-dot rear, both dovetailed.
Operation is striker-fired with a hinged, articulated trigger. Safety features include the manual thumb safety, a trigger safety, an internal striker block, and a sear deactivation lever for takedown. This pistol is capable of firing with the magazine removed.
Two factory single-column magazines are included: a 7-round flush-fit and an 8-round with extended baseplate, supporting a maximum capacity of 8+1. The dust cover is smooth without an accessory rail. Made in the United States, this pistol corresponds to S&W part number 180021.
