What’s Included
- Colt AR-15 Model SP1 Sporter semi-automatic rifle (as configured)
- 1 30 round magazine
The receiver is a slabside SP1 lower without a magazine-release fence, marked "COLT AR-15" with the rampant pony and "MODEL SP1." The right side bears the "COLT'S FIREARMS DIVISION / COLT INDUSTRIES / HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." address with SAFE/FIRE selector markings. The SP-prefix denotes 1980 production and places this Sporter receiver firmly in the pre-ban era.
It is configured with an A2-pattern carbine upper and a fixed carry handle. The A2-style rear sight includes a left-side UP/DN elevation drum. An ejection-port cover is present, and the handguard assembly uses a delta ring with round, ribbed, carbine-length two-piece handguards for a classic carbine profile.
The barrel is threaded and capped with an A1-style birdcage flash suppressor. Furniture includes a telescoping, multi-position M4-type stock in polymer and an A1-style checkered pistol grip. An A-frame front sight tower with protective ears and a sling swivel completes the carbine sighting system.
Construction centers on hard-anodized aluminum alloy receivers and a semi-automatic, direct-gas, rotating-bolt action with a manual safety selector. Made in the United States, this SP1-based configuration blends collectible Colt provenance with practical carbine features.
