Carl Gustav Automatgevär m/42B (AG-42B) 6.5x55 Swedish Semi-Auto Rifle, 25 in Barrel, Blued, B-Marked Magazine
This Carl Gustav Automatgevär m/42B is a Swedish-service, direct-impingement semi-auto chambered in 6.5x55 Swedish with a 25 in barrel. It shows the hallmark B-upgrade features, including the rubber-jacketed brass deflector, conical charging-cover knobs, and the viewing-window rear sight wheel. The rifle retains Swedish crown and B markings, comes with an original B-stamped magazine, and has a matching number observed on the bolt carrier cover. With approximately 30,000 produced and a design that later influenced Egypt’s Hakim and Rasheed, this example stands out for its correct AG-42B cues and period configuration.

What’s Included
- Original Swedish AG-42B-pattern steel 10-round magazine with B stamp on the body
- One-piece under-barrel cleaning rod (installed)
The AG-42B configuration is evident throughout: the sliding receiver cover serves as the charging handle and features conical knobs, while the rubber-jacketed brass deflector reflects the B retrofit. The rear tangent sight uses a viewing-window elevation wheel adjustable to 700 m, paired with a hooded front post adjustable for windage for clear, repeatable sighting.
This rifle operates on a true direct-impingement, gas-operated system with a tilting-bolt lockup, a distinctive mechanism for its era. It feeds from a 10-round detachable magazine and can be top-loaded via stripper clips through the receiver cover’s open position.
The full-length hardwood stock includes grasping grooves, a straight comb, sling attachment points, and the Swedish brass stock disk. The receiver is steel with a blued finish, consistent with period production. A matching number is observed on the bolt carrier cover.
Markings include a Swedish crown on the left receiver, the "19 C 48" marking on the left receiver, and B stamps on the right receiver and the magazine body. Approximately 30,000 AG-42-series rifles were produced, and this B-marked example reflects the later standard that influenced subsequent designs abroad.
