What’s Included
- J.C. Higgins Model 50 .30-06 bolt-action rifle
- Installed scope mount
Built on an FN commercial Mauser 98 action, this rifle features controlled-round feed and a large claw extractor. Belgian Liège proof marks, the PV proof, and the FN oval logo confirm its Belgian-made action, with "FN Action — Made in Belgium" markings present. The Sears code 583.99 is marked on the barrel, and the serial number is located on the left side of the receiver ring.
The 22 inch sporter-contour barrel is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and feeds from a 4-round internal magazine. The bolt is bright polished with a turned-down handle and round knob, and the safety is the Mauser 98 wing/flag type. The action is drilled and tapped, and a scope mount is already installed.
The walnut sporter stock includes a right-hand cheekpiece and a pistol-grip profile for comfortable handling. Sling swivel studs are installed for easy attachment of a sling, and a serrated buttplate completes the classic sporting configuration. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Factory-style iron sights are installed: a ramped bead front and an open leaf rear with a sliding/elevator ramp. The front sight ramp features a serrated top for reduced glare. The rifle wears a consistent blued finish on the receiver and barrel, giving it a traditional appearance.
